"Miracles Happen Once In A While When You Believe!"

Angie and Nate were MARRIED AND BAPTIZED this week! I KNOW they received strength from Heavenly Father! I KNOW Christ bore their afflictions! I KNOW there is strength in this gospel. I KNOW the gospel is happiness. They are so happy. The ward did so much! They provided refreshments for after the wedding, came to support, welcomed them in, went wedding dress shopping, decorated, and sat by them at church the next day. This ward is AMAZING! There is a tangible difference in their home. I love them! We were busy all week as usual but this was crazy! Thank Heavens Heavenly Father is in control. Good thing I had wedding planner experience before the mish.
We met with a member’s mom this week in Hartselle. She is a devout Baptist and promised to consider the Gospel if the Book of Mormon was mentioned in the Bible. Well isn't it her lucky day :) We are going to tell her about it tomorrow. I've been praying about how she needs to hear the message. It's going to be good. She's awesome! I'll tell you how it goes :)
Sister Wilson is going home this week. Holy Cow how time flies! I love her so much. She has truly served with all her heart, might, mind, and strength :) What an amazing missionary. She's taught me so much about loving people and making sacrifices for them. She takes it to a whole new level! Pray for her. She's going to have an amazing week just a hard one. Elder Posadas is being transferred so a lot of changes are happening here in Decatur. Look out everyone this transfer is going to be the bomb!
We are loving the bike riding, gospel teachin, Jesus loving mission here in Decatur :) Love y'all and have a good week :) Everything is going to be ok :)
Peace and Blessings!
Sister Gibbs :)

Who Knew Missionaries Were Wedding Planners :)

FAMILY, SO MANY MIRACLES!!!

This week was full of them!

Fall is beautiful here! Leaves everywhere and the weather is perfect!

Well Gibbs Family guess what?! In the Madison stake conference yesterday Sis. Ashcroft, the 1st counselor in the stake Relief Society, was giving a talk about missionary work, and talked about Elder John Henry Gibbs! Our way back cousin who served in the Southern states and was killed at Kane creek while serving! I had a Gibbs proud moment when the whole stake was learning about him and his sacrifice. It made me feel like he was there with me. Who knows he's probably the Angel who is moving things right along here in the south. He was a missionary, died for the Gospel, served in the South, and died for it! Sis. Ashcroft's ancestor was the missionary who opened the area after Elder Gibbs! I talked with her a bit and she's going to take me to the monument in Tennessee on a P-day! Learning about him gave me a special purpose here in the South :) Brother Beard's (not sure how he was related) jaw dropped when he saw my name tag haha :) Good people.

So who knew that Missionaries were wedding planners? We are teaming up with the relief society to create a cute little wedding for Nate and Angela.:) (conference miracle) And guess what?! Their baptisms will follow :) Talk about a BIG day :) We went to their house yesterday and they were tragic, everything that happened this week was weighing on them and they needed our help. We got there right when they were going to leave, MIRACLE! Nate was having doubts. He told us that Bro. Banks was right when he told them that life was going to get extremely hard before their baptism and that he didn't know if he could do it anymore. He believed what the Devil wanted him to believe, that he's good where he's at. He feels better than he did before the lessons but he didn't want to make life any harder. We were able to encourage him and answer his prayers. It's amazing that we can do that through the spirit.  We also basically asked him to marry his wife. TOAST!  We mentioned the wedding several times and I guess it didn't sink in. He said, "WHAT y'all are creepin this up on me too!" Then he smiled and said after a lengthy talk about marriage, that he always felt like marriage was right for him :)

DA DA DA DAAAAA, DA DA DA DAAAAAA!- that is translated into the wedding song fyi.

There are so many miracles all around us. OUR GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES! So this is Sis. Wilson's last week of her mission. Please keep her in your prayers. It's going to be the best week of her mission :) We get transfer calls on Saturday! Yippy Skippy :)

Love Y'all
Sister Gibbs :)

“The Field Is White Already to Harvest” LITERALLY. Decatur is ready!

Missions are hard my friends but things are all good in the hood:)

I've made a major break through this week.

Isn't that cotton field the coolest thing you've ever seen! Yes the field is white already to harvest. LITERALLY. Decatur is ready! We found that field on the way home from Interviews with President where we watched Meet the Mormons!!!!! Wasn't that the coolest thing in the whole world?!!! I loved and laughed a little harder than the other missionaries watching it with me. I don't know why that happens I just think things are more funny than most I guess:) The mission mom part was a little tender:)

This week was a little rough because I missed my fam. At interviews Sister Hanks talked with me and helped me a ton. She is amazing. Before my mission I didn't expect to have an emotional counselor here as well as a spiritual counselor well yippy skippy! Thank you Sister Hanks! Heavenly Father know what we need. She helped me identify why I was feeling anxious all the time. A: Missions are hard and no one really acknowledges that "Ain't nobody got the time for that." and B: I was missing my family. Once I acknowledged these things were bothering me I felt better. Missionaries are real people not robots:)

Despite the hard times I have some really awesome good times. I woke up this morning feeling so good and after reading my scriptures I couldn't stop smiling. The Lord blesses us! I don't even remember the reason why I'm so happy this morning oh wait I know it's the restored GOSPEL! The gospel does bring happiness my friends!

In district meeting Elder Posadas told us about President’s steps to getting 500 baptism and there is another miracle in the making. Behold, the Baptismal Calender! Nate, Angela, and Cam were, you know, kinda hesitant at first about baptism, but as soon as we brought that Calender over there whole life changed, I'm not kidding. They knew we were serious, they knew what was going to be required, and they knew how long they had until their baptism. All of them felt the Love. Nate said "Wow y'all! Y'all should plan like this for your husband someday, take these mission skills into your daily life!" I guess that's sorta the plan haha.

Well Fam I love ya. Sorry things are kinda all over in this letter. I love you. Have a great week:)

2 Nephi 2:25 ~ Have JOY!

"Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy" So inform your FACE! -Love, President Hanks

Wasn't conference AWESOME! Yes we got to watch all of the sessions and of course Women's Conference. Conference ALWAYS  helps me feel my Saviors love in tremendous amounts. We also get to see Meet the Mormons at our interviews with President on Thursday. YIPPEE SKIPPY:) I'm so excited!

So this week was one of the best weeks of my life basically:) Erin was baptized!!!!! Conference!!!!! and Sis Wittwer came back for the baptism with Sis. Lewis:) Sis. Lewis was Sis. Wilson's last companion in Tupelo talk about a Switcheroo:) It was truly amazing:)

Erin is so amazing! She is such a special spirit. Everyone who comes in contact with her is happier than they were before they met her. It's not a temporary happiness, her happiness has a lasting effect on people. Guess who came to her baptism?! Her non-member Dad, Step Mom, Mom, and her boyfriend’s less active Mom and Sister. What a great missionary! Her boyfriend's mom even bore her testimony. Her example has strengthened so many people including mine:)

What was your favorite talk at conference? I loved Elder Kebignat's (is that how you spell his name?) He answered a prayer I've had for a long time. The part that I loved the most was when he said "Don't listen to the wrong voice." As a missionary and through the rest of our lives we are consistently trying to improve ourselves. We need to be more obedient, more loving, more Christ-like, more giving, more patient, the list goes on. We have a lot on our shoulders. I've been trying extremely hard to be a good missionary to constantly try to be improving which is a good thing to an extent. We have a tendency to push ourselves too hard and set a standard too high or think we will be perfect over night but that's not possible.

Anything that is not good doesn't come from God including discouragement. There's always a voice in my head that says you could have done that better you should have taught that principle better and it gets over whelming. That is not the right voice to listen to. Heavenly Father doesn't want us to feel guilt he wants us to feel Godly Sorrow that inspires us to change. I'm learning to listen to the good voice that helps me repent and forget about it. "Don't listen to the wrong voice." Thank Heavens for Conference.

Have Joy! I'm learning that this gospel does bring happiness all the time as long as we follow it. I'm learning to be OK with making mistakes. It's a good feeling. Life at home looks awesome. Thanks for all of the prayers:) I pray for you every night!

Alabama is great. We met a gospel rapper again the other day he's awesome:)

I love you, Sister Gibbs
